High School: A strong candidate to help replace all–time digs leader Mystie McNaughton is Marisa Morton from Northwest High School in Justin, Texas…led the Texans and finished among the area 5A leaders with 561 digs (5.24 dps) as a senior…won the NHS Fighting Heart Award for 2008…set school records for most aces in a match (nine) and highest serve receive percentage…played for the same club program (Tejas VBC) as fellow freshman Morgan Pettway…also participated in soccer and track as a prep athlete.

Personal: Marisa plans to major in English or business management at CSUB…was an Academic All–State performer in high school…lists reading, camping, shopping and football among her interests…parents are Mark and Lisa Morton.
