Cinthia Angus joined the Cal State Bakersfield volleyball coaching staff in 2025 as an assistant coach, bringing with her a wealth of experience from a successful career at both the collegiate and high school levels. Her coaching journey spans a variety of roles, including positions at Saint Mary's College of California, Loyola University Maryland, Barry University, Snow College, and East High School, where she has built a reputation for her dedication to player development, leadership, and program success.
Angus served as Assistant Coach at Saint Mary's College of California, where she made significant contributions to both the indoor and beach volleyball programs. During her tenure, she stepped into the role of Interim Head Coach for beach volleyball, overseeing practice planning, skill development, and match preparation. Her leadership resulted in a 43.2% increase in social media engagement, while her fundraising efforts raised over $15,000 annually. Angus also played an instrumental role in the recruitment process, ensuring 100% compliance for over 25 student-athletes.
At Loyola University Maryland, Angus helped guide the Greyhounds to their best conference finish since 2013 and mentored a four-time Libero of the Year. She also had a notable tenure at Barry University, where she coached five All-Americans and led the Buccaneers to two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. As head coach at Snow College and East High School, Angus was known for building strong, lasting relationships with her players, fostering a positive and growth-oriented environment.
As a player, Angus was a standout at the University of Utah, where she helped the Utes win the Mountain West Conference title in 2008 and reach the NCAA Sweet 16. In addition to her indoor career, Angus has competitive beach volleyball experience, having competed on the AVP Next Tour. She also brings a global perspective to her coaching, having lived and competed internationally.
Angus holds a Master’s in Management from Durham University and a degree in Recreation and Tourism from the University of Utah.
