Biography

2005: Taylar Sklar led the team in scoring for the second straight season and moved well up in the Bakersfield all-time scoring lists along the way…her eight goals and 19 points in 2005 both rank in a tie for seventh all-time at CSUB in a single season…those totals raised her career marks to 17 goals, nine assists and 43 points…the 17 goals rank fifth in CSUB history, while the 43 points are sixth-best at CSUB and her nine assists are tied for seventh…also led team with 63 shots, 34 shots on goal and two game-winning goalsstarted the season hot scoring goals in three of the first four matches…notched game winners in a 1-0 win over Cal State L.A. (09/20/05) and 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills (10/29/05)…also assisted Giuiliana Fonseca’s game winner against Cal State Monterey Bay (10/14/05).

2004: Sklar was once again one of the top scoring threats for the Roadrunners in 2004…recorded a team-best six goals and added two assists for 14 points…scored twice and had an assist in a 5-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay (10/15/04)…had the game winner in CSUB’s 2-0 upset of eventual national champion Metro State (9/02/04)…led the team in goals and shots.

2003: Sklar scored three goals with four assists for 10 points, the third highest scorer on the team...played in all 19 matches and earned six starts as a freshman...scored her first career goal in a 4-3 loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills (9/13/03)...first career assist came against Western Washington (9/07/03) CSUB’s first goal of the year...was named to the all-tournament team at the 2003 Roadrunner Classic.

DON LUGO HS: Sklar was a potent goal scorer at Don Lugo HS…scored 42 goals in her final two seasons, including 23 as a junior…also had 14 assists as a senior and 15 as a junior…was a first-team all-league selection as a senior and a second-team pick as a junior…led Don Lugo to a CIF Southern Section Division I playoff berth and a second-place finish in the Mount Baldy League with a team record of 18-4-2.

PERSONAL: Major is physical education and kinesiology at CSUB…parents are Jack and Michelle Sklar.
