Tara Corcoran was named the team’s Best Newcomer after a solid junior season on the Roadrunner defensive line...one of just two players to start all 19 contests...played in 1,715 minutes, the 16th highest total in CSUB single–season history...led the team in shots with four against New Mexico (9–28–09)...finished the season with 19 shots, five coming on goal.
CERRITOS JC
Corcoran will bring two years of back line experience including one at the Division I level to the Roadrunners in 2009...named first team All–South Coast Conference...scored four goals and recorded one assist for Cerritos JC...the Falcons went 17–0–4, won the California Community College Athlete Association (CCCAA) State Championship and were named the Division III National Champions by the NSCAA.
LONG BEACH STATE
Corcoran played her freshman season at Big West school Long Beach State...appeared in 13 contests for the 49ers.
BONITA HS
Corcoran lettered four times in soccer and three times in volleyball...earned first team All–Maramonte League honors in soccer three times and was named league MVP as a senior...garnered All–CIF Southern Section honors three times, earning first–team accolades as a senior...named second team all-league as a freshman...named her team’s Rookie of the Year in 2003 and Defensive MVP sophomore through senior year....once scored a hat trick in six minutes during her freshman season...Bonita HS won the league four times, reached the CIF semifinals twice and the CIF quarters the other two seasons...volleyball team won two league titles...played club soccer for the La Verne Lazers and the Claremont Stars.
PERSONAL
Corcoran is a communications major at CSUB...parents are Timothy and Tina Corcoran...father, Timothy, played professional baseball from 1974–1986 with the Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets.
