Jessica Sitarz is in her second season as a graduate assistant coach at CSU Bakersfield. Sitarz will work primarily with the CSUB goalkeepers.
“Jessica is a very bright and eager coach,” said CSUB head coach Melissa Phillips. “I am thrilled to have her as a member of our staff, as she has innovative ideas and a work ethic that exceeds expectations. She has had the opportunity to work with very high level goalkeeper coaches throughout her playing and coaching career so we are excited for her knowledge in that area.”
Sitarz joined the Roadrunners after spending 2010-12 at San Joaquin Delta College where she worked with the goalies and assisted in recruiting. Sitarz worked on the club level where she was the head coach of the AJAX Soccer Club U-8 in Modesto, Calif. in 2012 and was the goalkeeper’s coach for the Stockton Cougars Club U-9 team from 2010-11.
Sitartz graduated from Cal State Stanislaus in 2010. A four-year letterwinner as a goalie for the Warriors, Sitartz was a teammate of Phillips at Cal Stanislaus. She is the school record holder for most saves in a match (12), most saves in a season (116, 2006), goals against average (0.65, 2009), and save percentage in a a season (.857, 2009). Sitartz is second in Stanislaus school history in career shutouts (17), career saves (308), and third in goals against average (1.40).
