Adrianne Pietz joined the CSU Bakersfield women’s soccer coaching staff in summer of 2017 as a volunteer coach. Pietz was hired as the Director of Operations in summer of 2019. She enters her fourth season with the Roadrunners.
Pietz was the head coach at Metropolitan State University of Denver for nine seasons (2008-16) and accumulated a record of 124-40-30 during her time with the Roadrunners. MSU Denver made seven NCAA Division II National Tournament appearances during her tenure, won two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular seasons titles, and one RMAC Tournament title.
Before moving up to head coach, Pietz was an assistant coach for the Roadrunners in 2006 and 2007. MSU Denver advanced to the National Tournament both years. The year prior, Pietz was an assistant coach at Stanislaus State in California.
After competing her first two seasons at CSU Bakersfield, Pietz transferred to MSU Denver and captained the 2004 squad to an NCAA DII National Championship. Her team went 25-1-0 and recorded 23 straight victories.
A native of Bakersfield, Pietz earned a bachelor’s degree in business management at Metro State in 2005 before getting a master’s degree in business administration in 2010 at Regis University.
Pietz has returned to Bakersfield and lives with her husband, Mike Pietz, and their children.
