BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — Lauren Shearon, was appointed the Head Dance team coach at CSU Bakersfield in 2022. A seasoned dancer and choreographer, Lauren has spent her life perfecting her craft.
Shearon pursued higher education at Boise State University, where she was a four-year member of the Boise State Mane Line dance team. She served as captain during her senior year, collaborating with the program director to choreograph halftime and end zone routines. Under her leadership, the team secured a second-place finish in Division 1 Jazz at the USA Collegiate National Competition.
During her time in Boise, Shearon coached the Rocky Mountain High School "Diamond Dancers," helping choreograph routines that earned top placements at the Idaho State Dance Competition.
Upon returning to Bakersfield, Shearon became the Assistant Director and Choreographer of the Bakersfield Dance Company from 2017 to 2022. During her tenure, her Hip Hop Line earned first overall and the Entertainment Award at the Starpower National Talent Competition in 2019. In 2021,
