Biography


2009: Alberto Navarro was one of just two players to start all 17 matches in 2009...led the team in minutes played at 1,568...after spending his first two seasons as a part of the midfield, he transitioned smoothly into the back line as the anchor of the Roadrunner defense...tallied four goals, including two in one match...converted penalty kicks on Sept. 11 against UC Riverside, Oct. 18 against New Mexico and Oct. 23 against San Jose State...also scored on a header off a set piece in the match against SJSU...was a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation second team selection.

2008: Navarro earned seven starts and appeared in 15 total matches as a key member of the Roadrunner midfield...assisted Manny Guzman's game-winner in a 1-0 win over Oregon State (Sept. 19)...scored his first collegiate goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to Seattle (Nov. 7).

2007: Navarro made good use of his time off the bench, contributing a pair of assists in 622 minutes of action...first assist was on the game-winning goal in the Roadrunners' season-opening overtime upset win over Portland State (Aug. 31)...second was in a 4-2 loss at Oregon State (Nov. 3)...also took 10 shots.

DELANO HS: Navarro was a Bakersfield Californian All-Area selection following his senior season at Delano High School...four-year team MVP and varsity letterwinner...two-time team captain.

PERSONAL: Navarro is a business administration major at CSUB...also earning a minor in sociology...played club soccer for the Bakersfield Gunners, Bakersfield Brigade, Bakersfield Pachuca, Pasadena Barcelona and the Delano Aztecs...parents are Jorge and Emma Navarro...born Mar. 25, 1989, in Delano, Calif.
