Justin Pride is in his second season with the CSU Bakersfield men’s basketball coaching staff in 2019-20. He serves as the Director of Player Development for the Roadrunners.

Pride was a two-year letterwinner (2015-17) for the CSUB men’s basketball team after transferring in from Columbia State Community College. The point guard recorded 80+ assists in both seasons as a `Runner and finished with 233 points, 174 assists, 151 rebounds, and 65 steals in a Bakersfield uniform.

Playing an instrumental role, Pride helped CSUB to its first-ever Western Athletic Conference Tournament title and first-ever berth in the NCAA Tournament at the Division I level in 2015-16. He led the `Runners in assists in 10 games that year including resetting CSUB’s D-I record for single-game assists with 12 against Seattle U Mar. 11. The following season, Pride led Bakersfield to a WAC regular-season title and the semifinal of the National Invitational Tournament, held in Madison Square Garden.

A native of Huntsville, Ala., Pride attended Butler High School before playing two seasons at Columbia State CC. In his freshman collegiate season, Pride earned First Team All-Conference honors while leading the Chargers to a 28-4 record as the third-ranked team in the nation. He led the country in assists during both junior college seasons.

A 2017 graduate of CSU Bakersfield, Pride earned a degree in liberal studies.
