Farrington is in his first season as the director of player development for CSUB.  

Farrington brings a wealth of experience to Bakersfield as he served as a college head coach for 21 seasons and has over 500 career wins on his resume.  

He began his head coaching career at Lower Columbia College, producing a 280-149-2 record in 11 seasons before taking the head job at Washington State from 1995-2000.  At Lower Columbia, he led the Red Devils to five regional crowns and was named the national junior college coach of the year in 1992.  He garnered regional coach of the year honors in 1984, 1990 and 1992.  

With the Cougars, he led Washington State to the Pac-10 North Championship in his first season and was named the division's Coach of the Year as a result.  During his five years as head coach of the Cougars, Farrington led them to 138 victories.  

His last head coaching stint was at Columbia Basin College from 2009-12.  In his four seasons at Pasco, Washington, Farrington had a 139-62 record and led the Hawks to a runner-up finish at the NWAACC Championship Tournament in 2009.  

Farrington was a three-sport athlete at Eastern Washington University, earning four varsity letters in baseball and football, while adding one in basketball.  He earned his undergraduate degree in physical education and health with minors in math and biology in 1974 and received his master's degree in 1976.  While pursuing his graduate degree, he served as an assistant coach for both the baseball and football programs.
