Michael Nagamatsu enters his first year at Cal State Bakersfield ahead of the 2025 spring season. Nagamatsu will serve as an Assistant Coach for the Roadrunner baseball program and coach first base on game days. Nagamatsu came to Bakersfield with vast experience in the baseball world, including over 14 years of coaching experience at various levels and over 4 years as an associate scout with Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks in the PNW territory.

A former collegiate and professional player, Nagamatsu began coaching and training athletes in 2010 where his primary focus was on development, relationship building, and next level preparation, and during this span was also a Head Coach at the high school level multiple times.

Nagamatsu earned a Business degree from Pacific which led him to being a corporate executive and eventually, an entrepreneur, off the field. Nagamastsu and his wife Amne have two daughters, Waverly and Ayla.
