Matt Comnos enters his second season on the Cal State Bakersfield coaching staff in Fall of 2025. He started his coaching career as the Director of Operations buy was promoted to Assistant Coach heading into Year 2.

Comnos brings a a strong background in collegiate and junior college baseball to the Roadrunners. A standout pitcher at California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB), Comnos excelled on the mound during his senior season in 2023, leading the team in several key pitching categories, which led to him being the CSUB Male Athlete of the Year and earning an All-Big West Honorable Mention recognition.

Before his time at CSUB, Comnos played at Saddleback College, earning All-Orange Empire Conference honors. He also enjoyed a successful prep career at Capistrano Valley High School, helping lead the team to the 2018 Southern Section Division I Championship.
