2012 (R-JUNIOR): Appeared in four games, starting two before an elbow injury ended his season in March...was 1-1 with a 3.95 ERA...struck out 12 in 13.2 innings.

2011 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt at CSUB.

2010 (SOPHOMORE): Went 5-5 with a 6.10 ERA for Allan Hancock College...started all 13 appearances...led team in strikeouts (65) and innings pitched (79.2).

2009 (FRESHMAN): Started eight of 14 appearances for Allan Hancock College...was 3-4 and posted a 5.91 ERA...struck out 28 in 45.1 innings...named second team All-League.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Faith Lutheran High School...coach was Tony Girod...a first team All-State and All-Conference selection in 2007 and 2008...went 18-1 over junior and senior seasons...team won state championship in 2007 and league titles in 2007 and 2008.

PERSONAL: Born July 14, 1990...son of Chris and Diane Buchanan...a liberal studies major.
