Last Season: Katherine Smith proved to be one of Bakersfield’s most valuable reserves in 2006, appearing in 27 of 29 games…scored in 14 of her 27 appearances with her season–high eight points coming in just her second game, a win over Western New Mexico (11–19–05)…also had a season–high five assists in the win…pulled down a season–high eight rebounds in a season–high 23–minute effort vs. Holy Names University (12–29–05)…proved to be a dangerous three–point shooter in 2006, converting half (7-of-14) of her attempts from beyond the arc.

Ohlone College: Smith spent her sophomore season at Ohlone College in Fremont…was an All–Coast Conference selection after averaging 17 points per game as a sophomore…led the Condors to a third–place finish in the Coast Conference race.

Gulf Coast College: Smith played her freshman season at Gulf Coast College in Florida, helping the Commodores to a Panhandle Conference title with a spotless league record in 2004. High School: Smith was considered a Division I prospect coming out of Drake High School before a knee injury…averaged 15 points and five assists per game in her top prep season.

Personal: Smith is a business administration major at CSUB…plans to go to graduate school…Her father, F. Michael Smith, played with the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks.
