Biography

2019 (R-SENIOR): Made four starts and appeared in five matches...Posted a 2.79 goals against average and a .556 save percentage, while making 15 saves and finishing with a 1-3 record...Made season-best five saves against UC Davis on 9/6...Picked up the win in a 5-2 decision at Sacramento State when he made four stops on 9/8...Posted three saves in an overtime loss to #7 Saint Mary's on 9/13...Played a total of 387 minutes. 

2018 (R-JUNIOR): Played in nine straight matches, making eight starts while filling in for injured Detre Bell...recorded three straight shutouts against Grand Canyon, UNLV and No. 7 Air Force, the first time that has happened at CSUB since 2014...was named the WAC Player of the Week after blanking GCU and UNLV...earned the victory against No. 7 Air Force, which was the highest-ranked team CSUB has ever defeated...played 807:06 in goal and allowed 13 goals...finished the season with 40 saves, a .755 save percentage and a 1.45 goals against average.  

2015-2017: Played for Oregon State University...did not appear in a match.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Oceanside High School in Oceanside, Calif...coached by Frank Zimmerman...two-year team captain...named Team MVP after senior season...set the school record for clean sheets in a a season (15) and in a career (26)...earned league Player of the Year honors...selected to the all-state team...named to the San Diego All-Section Team...led Pirates to a league championship and a CIF San Diego Section title.

PERSONAL: Born on December 26, 1996 in San Diego, Calif...son of Julio and Martha Sarmiento...liberal studies major.
