Biography

2011 (JUNIOR): Started 20-of-32 appearances...hit .250 with two home runs and 20 RBI’s...scored eight runs...smacked three doubles.   

2010 (SOPHOMORE):  Played in 28 games…started 13 times as the designated hitter and twice in the outfield…recorded multiple hits in final three appearances of season (May 25 at UC Santa Barbara, May 26 at Loyola Marymount, and May 28 at Cal Poly…went 2-for-2 with two RBI’s against Fresno State Apr. 2…was 2-of-4 with an RBI in the second game of the doubleheader against Air Force Feb. 20…hit .266 with four home runs and 10 RBI’s.

2009 (FRESHMAN): Hit .227 with four home runs and 13 RBI’s...served as CSUB’s DH in two games during opening weekend...hit 1-for-6 with a double and an RBI...appeared at the plate twice at the Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic, recording a two-RBI single in CSUB’s 9-7 over Portland (Mar. 11)...hit his first collegiate home run against San Jose State (Mar. 28)...blasted a solo home run in the ninth inning against Fresno State to tie the game at 3-3 (Apr. 4)...CSUB went on to win the game 4-3...SUMMER LEAGUE: Gaston played for the Clarinda A’s in 2009...batted .218 with a dozen hits, including four doubles and one home run in 21 games...also had 14 RBIs...team advanced to the NBC World Series where he batted .316 with six hits in 19 at-bats, including two doubles, two triples and a home run in four games...also scored two runs while driving five total runs across the plate.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Quartz Hill High School, where he earned first team All-Golden League honors in 2007 and 2008...second in the Golden League in home runs and third in RBIs in 2008…led the Golden League in slugging percentage and was second in home runs in 2007…listed on the 2007 Perfect Game USA national prospect list…listed on the 2007 Teamonebaseball.com West Top 20 prospect list…led the Rebels to league championships in 2005-07…also a four-year varsity basketball letterwinner...
