2009: Erik Draxton recorded CSUB’s first-ever win, a 4-2 decision against St. Louis (2/21/09)...best outing of the season was a two strikeout, one walk, four hit, one earned run performance against St. Mary’s (3/30/09)...retired 14 consecutive batters and 17-of-18 midway through the game...moved into a closer role late in the season...earned his first save against Nebraska (5/10/09), striking out three and not allowing a hit in two innings of work...also earned a save in CSUB’s final game of the season, a 6-5 win over Pacific (5/24/09)...recorded 38 strikeouts in 52 2/3 innings (eight starts and four relief appearance).

PHOENIX COLLEGE
Draxton was a relief pitcher for Phoenix College in 2007 and 2008...went 3-0 with 12 saves, 34 strikeouts and a 1.67 earned run average in 32 appearances in 2008...led the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference in saves...helped the Bears to the 2008 ACCAC title and the National Junior College Athletic Association Region I Division 2 championship...earned first team All-Region I honors...two-time national junior college all-academic selection.

PARK CITY HIGH SCHOOL
Draxton prepped at Park City High School where he was a 3A All-State selection his senior season...also named first team all-region, and team MVP.

SUMMER LEAGUE
Draxton played for the Humboldt Crabs in 2009...went 3-0 with 11 saves and a 0.76 ERA in 19 appearances...had 36 strikeouts in 23 innings...named the Crabs’ Closer of the Year...also named to the All-Horizon League second team...played for the Kenai Peninsula Oilers of the Alaska Baseball League in 2008...went 1-1 with seven saves and a 0.89 ERA in 20 appearances...struck out 17 in 30.1 innings.

Draxton is majoring in sports management at CSUB...also pursuing a minor in marketing...parents are Dean and Vicki Draxton...born February 5, 1987, in Rapid City, S.D.
