GREELEY, Colo. - The Cal State Bakersfield women's golf team opened its 2026-27 season with a fourth-place finish at the UNC Bear Crawl Tuesday at Greeley Country Club.
The Roadrunners finished with a three-round team score of 909 (+57), placing fourth in the six-team tournament. St. Thomas claimed the team title at 868 (+16), followed by Northern Colorado and UTRGV, who tied for second at 884 (+32). Southern Illinois and Montana rounded out the field.
Freshman Melay Dittrich led the `Runners in her collegiate debut, finishing third individually at three-over 216. Dittrich carded rounds of 75 (+4), 71 (E) and 70 (-1), resetting the program record for a debut tournament score.
Rena Kaneko and Fiona Clancy tied for 17th at 17-over 230. Kaneko recorded rounds of 78, 74 and 78, while Clancy posted scores of 78, 76 and 76.
Sahya Kitabatake finished 23rd at 23-over 236 after rounds of 83, 77 and 76. Ashlee Kresha rounded out the CSUB lineup in 24th place at 24-over 237, carding rounds of 82, 79 and 76.
CSUB competed in its first tournament of the season, which also happened to be the first tournament in the state of Colorado in program history. The event featured 36 holes on Monday before concluding with an 18-hole final round Tuesday.
The Roadrunners will return to action Sept. 14-15 at the Wolverine Invitational in Saratoga Springs, Utah. The tournament will be held at TalonsCove Golf Club.
