`Runners Battle Boise State at Home

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Cal State Bakersfield women's soccer team fell to a Boise State squad that is now 5-1-1 following a good battle Thursday night at the Main Soccer Field. The Roadrunners created several chances against the Broncos, but Boise State goalkeeper Ava de Leest made six saves to preserve the shutout.

How it Happened

Boise State scored less than two minutes into the match when Wilson followed a misplayed ball into the box and finished into an open net. CSUB responded with chances from Gore, Osejo, and Alexandra Diaz, but de Leest stopped a pair of CSUB shots on target in the opening 45 minutes.

Evens kept CSUB within striking distance throughout the match, making four saves in each half and denying Donovan's penalty kick at 49:12. Boise State doubled its lead when Wilson scored again at 71:32 on a hard blast from outside the box. Osejo and Neese put late shots on goal, but Boise State held on for the win.
