BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – To compete with the best in the nation, the Roadrunners must have the best talent on their rosters. Taking the next step in navigating the continually-shifting landscape of college sports, the Cal State Bakersfield Athletics Department has announced the creation of the Roadrunner Advantage Fund, a brand-new opportunity for fans and supporters to help CSUB Athletics recruit and retain top-tier student-athletes.

In response to the House v. NCAA settlement, universities are now empowered to provide direct financial support to student-athletes through name, image, and likeness (NIL) initiatives and revenue sharing opportunities.

Philanthropic investments in the Roadrunner Advantage Fund will aid CSUB Athletics in attracting and retaining elite student-athletes, both locally and from out of the area, by directly providing support to NIL and revenue-sharing initiatives. The ability to recruit and keep these premier athletes is a vital component of enhancing our competitive success and building championship-caliber teams across all 16 of CSUB’s Division I sports.

Every gift to the Roadrunner Advantage Fund will have a direct impact and is a mutually beneficial investment for supporters in multiple ways:

• Greater talent on our rosters means more CSUB victories for fans to enjoy
• Gifts to the Roadrunner Advantage Fund are processed through the CSUB Foundation and are tax-deductible*
• Your contribution automatically makes you a Roadrunner Club member, qualifying you for exclusive benefits based on your giving level. 
• RAF gifts can also be designated to specific sport programs, allowing you to support the teams that matter most to you.
