`Runners Announce 25-26 Golf Schedule

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Cal State Bakersfield Head Coach Katy Barrett enters her third year as the leader of the Roadrunner women’s golf team heading into the 2025-26 year. In Barrett’s first season, CSUB posted the second-best scoring average in program history (310.56), with four golfers averaging in the 70s on the year. Last season, the team improved upon that, posting the program’s best scoring average (306.00) and had five golfers averaging in the 70s on the year.  The `Runners continue to blossom year after year under the leadership of Coach Barrett.

Coach Barrett shared her thoughts on the 2025-26 season: â€œAs I enter my third year as Head Coach of the Women's Golf team, I am confident that we are poised for another historic season both on and off the course. Our program continues to grow stronger each year as we strive to build a championship-caliber team, set new records, excel in the classroom, and, most importantly, give back to the community that has supported us so generously.

This year, we are proud to have a talented roster of eight players – six returners, one transfer, and one freshman. Leading the way will be our standout seniors, Sarah Mutai and Iris Han, along with rising star Anna Kehrer, a sophomore, who has already made a significant impact on our program. Our returners and newcomers have spent the summer competing in several amateur events, sharpening their skills and preparing for what promises to be the most competitive season in CSUB Women's Golf history. This team is ready, they are strong, and they are firing on all cylinders."

CSUB’s schedule features nine regular-season tournaments across five different states, kicking off the year in Saratoga Springs, Utah, in the Wolverine Classic hosted by Utah Valley from Sept. 8-9. At the end of September, the `Runners will travel north to Washington in the Kalispel Invitational, Sept. 22-23, and then come back to California for a dual match versus CSUN at Sandpiper GC on October 7. CSUB will round out its fall slate in Nevada, for the Clash at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nev., Oct. 27-28.

CSUB will resume its season after a three-month break with four tournaments in California. February 4-6 at the Fresno State Invitational, February 23-24 at the UCLA and Pepperdine’s Bruin Wave Invitational, Fresno State Classic on March 2-3, and then at Morehead State’s MSU SoCal Invitational from March 8-10.

Bakersfield will wrap up the regular season in St. Augustine, Fla. On March 30-31 at Furman’s Coach Mo Classic. Then, from April 19-21, Bakersfield will look to hunt down its first Big West Championship, taking place in Lahaina, Hawai’i.
