BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Tom Richardson earned his second Big West Field Athlete of the Week honors after a huge performance over the weekend at the Titan Tune Up. Richardson joins Makiah Parker, Javier Toro, and Jacob Yagers as the only four CSUB athletes honored this year by the conference. 

This is Richardson's second career weekly award, was previously honored back in 2023. He becomes the first male CSUB athlete to be honored twice for the honors. 

Senior Tom Richardson finished first overall in the men's shot put with a mark of 16.54m/54'3.25". Richardson currently ranks eighth in the Big West for the event. 

He also placed second in the men's hammer throw with a new personal best mark of 62.21m/204'5". He now holds the sixth-best mark in program history and is seventh in the conference for the event. 

Richardson is 45th in the West Region for the HT and looks to qualify for the West Preliminary meet in College Station, Texas. 

CSUB will compete at the Big West Championships in Long Beach, Calif. on May 16-17.
