Roadrunners Take Game Two From CSUN Behind Arm of Bustos

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Roadrunners split with the Matadors in day one of the two day series as the took game two Friday afternoon. CSUB offense generated four runs on 10 hits while Bailee Bustos held it down in the circle hurling her 14th complete game on the year, which keeps her inside the top 30 in the country.

Shay Fuimaono opened up game two just missing a three-run shot to left field with two outs in the top of the first inning, but had to settle for a two RBI single. In the second inning, Maya Molina Villarreal would tack on another to pad the Roadrunner lead with a RBI single to left field. CSUN would strike in the bottom of the frame to close the CSUB lead 3-1, but Maalia Cherry added some insurance in the third inning to put Bakersfield up 4-1. The Matadors continued to fight and eventually inched within just a run of the `Runners in the fourth inning, but it was not enough. Bustos went seven innings on 115 pitches to shut down the Matador momentum and hold on for the win.
