Yagers Breaks 33 Year Old School Record

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal State Bakersfield's Track & Field athlete Jacob Yagers broke the school record in the men's 1,500m race at the Mark Conover Classic hosted by the Cal Poly Mustangs. Yagers placed first overall with a time of 3:44.40 and while doing so, he shot up to first in the Big West for the event. The record stood for 33 years when Erick McBride ran a 3.44.81 back in 1992.

Earlier in the season the Bakersfield native broke his own record in the men's 3,000m race with a time of 8:30.30. He now holds two school records for the Roadrunners and is on the CSUB all-time list in two other events.

With plenty of season left for Yagers and the rest of the team, they will participate in the West Coast Relays next weekend hosted by the Fresno State Bulldogs.
