BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced the selection of 781Â teams from 459Â institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2024 semester on Monday. Both Cal State Bakersfield's men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned the distinction for the third-straight academic term.
These teams, representing a total of 19,206 student-athletes, were chosen based on their outstanding academic performance during the specified semester. In order to qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to exhibit exceptional grade point averages during the academic term, maintaining a 3.00 or above as a collective unit.
The Roadrunner men posted a standout Term GPA of 3.21 during the Fall while CSUB's women came in with a sturdy 3.10.
Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA, praised the outstanding achievements, stating, "The commitment to academic excellence demonstrated by these teams is truly admirable. It is inspiring to see student-athletes excel both in the pool and in the classroom. The CSCAA takes great pride in honoring and celebrating their dedication and achievements.
