BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Cal State Bakersfield junior captain Catalina Roggerone has been called up to represent the Argentina senior women’s national team for a pair of upcoming international friendlies against Chile. This marks Roggerone’s first national team selection of 2025 and continues her rise on the global stage.
Roggerone, a standout midfielder for the Roadrunners, will join Argentina for two matches against Chile later this month. The first friendly will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida, with the second fixture scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Complejo Juan Pinto Durán.
The call-up follows an impressive showing during Roggerone’s previous appearances with Argentina in 2024. On her recent senior call-up in October 2024 when Argentina faced the United States in Kentucky, Roggerone made a strong impression, playing a full 90 minutes in what was widely regarded as a standout performance against one of the world’s top teams.
Roggerone also played for Argentina in the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup, further cementing her place as a promising international talent.
Roggerone is in her third season with the Roadrunners and has been a key figure in the team’s midfield. As a junior captain, she has played a pivotal role in guiding a young CSUB squad to a Big West Championship run.
Argentina's matches against Chile will serve as key preparations for the team as they look ahead to upcoming international competitions.
