`Runners Break Losing Streak in Dominant Win Over Fullerton

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield broke their six-game losing streak Saturday afternoon with a win over Cal State Fullerton on SpectrumSportsnet. CSUB's defense held the Titans to just 54 points on 36% shooting, their best defensive performance in the last seven games.

The Roadrunners improved to 11-16 (5-10 BW) and inserting themselves back into the mix for the Big West Championships in Henderson, Nevada, as the eighth seed. Current nine seed, Cal Poly plays Cal State Northridge tonight at 5 pm. The Bakersfield offense shot 50% from the field on the day, including Corey Stephenson's double double as he scored 23 points (8/8 FG, 6/6 FT) and grabbed 11 rebounds. Jemel Jones also made his impact on this game, scoring 25 points (9/18 FG, 3/6 3FG, 4/4 FT) while adding seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block to his final line. CSUB out rebounded CSUF 44-32 and forced 17 turnovers which translated into 22 points for the `Runners.
