• The Tritons are currently tied with UC Irvine for first place in the Big West standings.
• The Roadrunners beat the Tritons when they last met in the Icardo Center, winning 70-57.
  • CSUB leads the head-to-head series with a record of 20-5.
• Bakersfield is facing a hot UCSD team that is on a five-game winning streak, including a win over UC Irvine their last time out.

• The Roadrunners wrap up the week with Fullerton.
  • Last time they met, the Roadrunners won, this was their first time winning in Fullerton since joining the Big West
• CSUF has struggled greatly this season, winning one conference game versus Long Beach State, and going on a five-game losing streak since that victory.
  • They host Cal Poly before coming to the Icardo
• Fullerton is 19-10 when facing off against Bakersfield.

• Now in the final month of the regular season, the Cal State Bakersfield wrestling team is in the midst of hosting four-straight home duals in February.
• This weekend's clash is scheduled to feature a marquee matchup at 197 pounds between #3 AJ Ferrari and #5 Stephen Little.
• Two Roadrunners are currently nationally ranked by multiple major polls (FloWrestling/InterMat/The Open Mat): #3/3/3 AJ Ferrari (197), #26/20/17 Jake Andrews (HWT).
• Former NCAA Champion AJ Ferrari is ranked the #13 Pound-for-Pound wrestler in the country by FloWrestling.
• FloWrestling ranks Cal State Bakersfield #25 as a team while InterMat (#27) has the Roadrunners in the same ballpark.
• Bakersfield native Jake Andrews is now 18-2 on the year, making his true senior season his best to date.

• Bakersfield’s wrestling program had an active streak of sending at least one Roadrunner to the NCAA Championships for 50 consecutive seasons, snapped last year. A mix of ready returners and determined newcomers will help 6th-year Head Coach Luke Smith return the program to new prominence in the wrestling world.
• Smith recruited two standout veterans to help guide the way: 2021 NCAA Champion (197) AJ Ferrari and 3-time NCAA Qualifier (174/165) Gerrit Nijenhuis (Oklahoma/Purdue).

• Cal State Bakersfield welcomes Big 12 member North Dakota State as well as fellow Pac-12 program Little Rock to Bakersfield.

• CSUB and North Dakota State will be meeting for just the 6th time in the all-time series.
• The `Runners won the first two meetings, but they have lost the last three, most recently, a 24-9 decision to in 2019-20.
• CSUB and Little Rock are co-members of the Pac-12 since the Trojans joined the conference in 2020-21.
• ULR owns a 3-0 record against CSUB all-time.
• Last year in Little Rock, the Trojans defeated the `Runners 37-6, but Bakersfield's re-vamped lineup looks to be much more competitive this time around.

• The Cal State Bakersfield swimming and diving teams have reached their biggest meet of the year with the 2025 Big West Championships set for this week in Houston.
• The swim & dive teams are in a new and exciting era as the `Runners are in their first season in The Big West with the first Big West Championships since 2010.
• The Roadrunners boast seven Big West Athlete of the Week honors this season across four different student-athletes: Vili Sivec (4), Arthur Amaral Schneider, Lorena Jerebic, and Jessica Franco.
• Bakersfield sent two of its top `Runners to the U.S. Open this winter, where junior Vili Sivec became the U.S. Open Champion in the 200 Butterfly.
• Bakersfield is coming off a highly successful 2023-24 season which saw the `Runners win eight conference medals, with most of the team posting high-scoring best times.
• The `Runner rosters feature several experienced and determined veterans looking to lead the way, including Sivec, who is the reigning MPSF Swimmer of the Year.

• Bakersfield will look to an experienced group of `Runners that features several former All-Conference performers: Danielle Albright (4x), Jessica Franco (1x), Lorena Jerebic (2x), Arthur Amaral Schneider (1x), Anderson Laing (1x), Dyson Modica (5x), Yigit Salgam (2x), and Vili Sivec (7x).
• Director of Swimming Chris Hansen also brought in a handful of talented newcomers who aim to score big points for the `Runners this week in Houston.

• They will be facing off against Sacramento State, Western Illinois, Utah Tech, and Big West foe in Hawai’i.

Spring Fling Tournament - Honolulu, HI

• Sacramento State is coming off a 3-1 weekend in the NorCal Kickoff, coming away with wins over Saint Mary’s, Utah Valley, and San Jose State.
  • Their lone loss came to Boise State.
  • Bakersfield trails 17-24 in the all-time series, winning 10-2 in 2019.
  • Junior, Katie Marsh is batting .636 in four games with seven hits (two doubles, a triple, and two home runs) and five RBI.
• Western Illinois is 2-2 after the Rosemont Dome Tournament, beating Detroit Mercy and Butler.
  • All the Leathernecks’ games were decided by two runs or less.
  • This will be the first time the Roadrunners and the Leathernecks will meet.
  • Payton Brown had 13 total bases last weekend, with a double, triple, and home run.
• Utah Tech is 2-3, the Trailblazers appeared in the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament for two games and the Easton Classic for three games.
  • Their three losses came to Big West schools (UC Riverside, CSUN, and Cal State Fullerton).
  • The Trailblazer pitching staff has a cumulative ERA of 4.20 after the first weekend of play.
    • Junior, Sauren Garton has an ERA of 1.17 in 12.0 innings of work and has recorded 15 strikeouts
• Hawai’i meets up with the Roadrunners once in this tournament ahead of conference play.
  • Bakersfield trails the all-time series 1-10
    • The Roadrunners got their first win versus the Rainbow Wahine in 2023 by a score of 8-5.
  • Hawai’i is hosting another tournament after going 4-1 in the first weekend of games, beating Santa Clara, Saint Louis, and Southern Indiana twice.
  • The Hawai’i pitching staff has an ERA of 1.40, they pitched four complete games, only giving up two runs in each of their wins.

• The Cal State Bakersfield women’s basketball team is back on the road for some Big West action, starting with a trip to San Diego, followed by a game in Fullerton. 
• Bakersfield is coming off a strong win at home in the Icardo Center and looks to carry that momentum to UC San Diego. 
• Marley Langi and Ary Dizon have been key contributors, with Dizon averaging 9.1 points and 2.2 blocks per game.
• She currently leads the Big West with 51 total blocks and blocks per game.

UC San Diego - Thursday, February 13th at 7:00 pm

• Bakersfield faces UC San Diego for the second time this season.
• After meeting in December during Bold Week, the Tritons have climbed into the middle of the Big West standings, with a 7-5 conference record and 11-13 overall.
• UCSD is coming off a loss to UC Irvine, who is second in the Big West.
• In their previous matchup, the `Runners fought hard but fell 55-40.

Cal State Fullerton- Saturday, February 15th at 2:00 pm

• Next, Bakersfield will visit Cal State Fullerton.
• The Titans are currently one spot below Bakersfield in the conference standings, with a 3-10 Big West record and 5-18 overall.
• Fullerton is coming off a 71-54 loss to UC Davis last Saturday.

• The Roadrunners come off the UCR Soboba Spring Classic placing 6th out of 7 teams.
• .Sarah Mutai was consistent over the weekend, finding herself in the mid 70s shooting all three rounds
  • She finished tied for 17th overall in the tournament.

CSUB @ Alice & John Wallace Classic (Palm Desert, Calif.)

• The Roadrunners are set to face off against 20 other teams including Fresno State, USC, Hawai’i, Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State, UC Davis, Oregon, Cal Poly, and more.
• CSUB will look to be more consistent this weekend in this very competitive match
• Iris Han was sitting just outside the top 10 last weekend through two rounds at 13th on the leaderboard
  • She had eight birdies through two rounds, good for second-most
