BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 2025 Spring season is swiftly approaching and the Cal State Bakersfield Athletics Department anxiously awaits the first contests. Heading into the new season, CSUB is excited to once again partner with ESPN, the world's leading multiplatform sports entertainment brand, to broadcast 17 of the 19 Roadrunner softball home contests and 22 of the 24 baseball home games live on ESPN+, the No. 1 sports streaming platform in the country. 

Cal State Bakersfield has been collaborating with ESPN to broadcast `Runner home games for more than a decade, including as part of The Big West's ongoing partnership with the global sports leader. Sports fans who are unable to attend CSUB's home contests in person will be able to stay up-to-date with the `Runners live on ESPN+ with CSUB Director of Creative Services Kyle LePere leading the production process.

Under LePere's leadership, since 2021, Cal State Bakersfield has broadcasted 146 of 168 CSUB baseball and softball home games (87%). During the 2024 season, these two sports combined to average nearly 2,300 viewers per home contest on ESPN+ with over 86,000 viewers tuning in to see the `Runners play.

The highest-flying and most exciting plays the `Runners have made, several of them making SportsCenter Top Play of the Day lists, have all been streamed to thousands of fans watching from home and that tradition continues this year. Cal State Bakersfield's first broadcasted home game for the Spring season is baseball's home opener, Feb. 14, against Lamar. Some of the best matchups and storylines of the Spring season are listed below:

- Feb. 21: Softball kicks off the second annual Welter Classic, hosting Montana and Pacific
- Mar. 7-8: Olivarez opens Big West play taking on UC Davis; last season Bakersfield earned their first conference win in the Olivarez era versus UC Davis
- Mar. 12: Baseball hosts their first ever Education Day versus Pacific
- Mar. 18: Banfield and the Roadrunners welcome Fresno State for a Rally for the Valley matchup
- Mar. 22-24: Baseball Big West home opener versus CSUN
- Apr. 26: Softball Senior Day versus perennial Big West power, Long Beach State
