BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Cal State Bakersfield Women's Indoor Track & Field program saw three new school records at the Friday Night Axe ‘Em Open hosted by Northern Arizona University. Freshmen Makiah Parker and Skye Odom broke a CSUB record in their respective events. Senior Julie Johnson rebroke her school record in the women’s 300m. 

Julie Johnson ran the 300m with a new personal best time of 40.86. Johnson broke her own school record, which she had made last year. The Bakersfield native also holds the indoor 400m school record. 

Freshman Makiah Parker broke the school record in the 60m. Her new personal best time of 7.55 sits at the top of the CSUB list in the event. In just her second meet in the blue and gold, she is in the CSUB top five list in a total of four events. 

Freshman Skye Odom placed first overall in the triple jump at the Axe 'Em Open. Odom marked an 11.65m, which is now a CSUB record. Odom has become the first Roadrunner this year to win her event. 

Bakersfield will be back in action next week when they travel up north for the Spokane Indoor Challenge.
