BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A first-half goal and a stout defensive effort was the perfect recipe that led to a 1-0 shutout victory for the Cal State Bakersfield men's soccer team on Thursday night at the Main Soccer Field. The Roadrunners kicked off the 2024 season with the win thanks to a game-winning goal from Adrian Jogerst and a clean sheet from goalkeeper Zenden Hart.

The `Runners will hit the road for the first time this weekend. CSUB is scheduled to take on San Jose State on Sunday, Aug. 25, which is coached by former CSUB Head Coach Simon Tobin. Bakersfield's current leader, Head Coach Adam Grant, will take his squad north with hopes to start the season with a two-match win streak.
