Olivarez Adds Four Roadrunners in Signing Period

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Bakersfield Softball continues to add talent during the signing period adding four more future Roadrunners. Head Coach Letty Olivarez has added four high school prospects, one that will be joining this spring, and three others that will be joining in the Spring of 2026.
 
Molly Gill
-From Warners Bay, Australia
-Outfielder
-Played on the 2023 U16 National Team
  • Had 14 hits in 13 games, batting .467 with an on-base percentage of .545
  • Gill had two doubles and drove in eight runs
-Was part of the 2022 U16 New South Wales National Championship team
-2020-21 Wolves Softball Club Junior Female Player of the Year & Junior Rookie of the Year
-2021-22 Wolves Softball Club Junior Female Player of the Year, U15 Coaches Award, U15 Grand Champions
 
Head Coach Letty Olivarez on Molly:
"We are thrilled to welcome Molly Gill to our program in Spring. As a dynamic outfielder and talented slapper, she brings an exciting combination of speed, athleticism, and offensive versatility. We look forward to seeing her make a positive impact both defensively and offensively, and we are confident she will be a key contributor to our team's success."
 

Kandi Kainani Malama-Ahlo 
-From Kapoeli, Hawai'i
-Senior at Kapolei High School
-Pitcher, First base, and Third base
-Had 60 at bats hitting .550 in her junior season
  • Racking 33 hits, 20 RBI, six doubles, and eight home runs
  • Stole two bases while drawing seven walks
-Her 33 hits had her tied for first in the Oahu Interscholastic Association (OIA) Division I level
-She was tied for third place in the OIA for home runs and ranked ninth for batting average
-Led D1 overall in strikeouts (71) and innings pitched (99.8)

"From the mound to the batter's box, this Hawaiian powerhouse brings unmatched energy and versatility to the game. With a fierce competitive spirit and the strength to dominate both as a pitcher and a corner player, she's a force to be reckoned with. As she heads to CSUB next year, her drive and all-around game will continue to make our program better."
 

Kayla Whaley
-From Ewa Beach, Hawai'i
-Senior at Campbell High School
-Outfielder
-Batted .424 in her junior season
  • 25 hits and nine going for extra bases
    • Six doubles, one triple, and two home runs
  • Drove in 19 runs and scored 23 runs
-11th in the OIA D1 level for hits
-8th in doubles and 12th in runs scored

Head Coach Letty Olivarez on Kayla:
"Kayla is a fantastic addition to our team. She is another player from the island who brings an undeniable passion for the game, along with a sharp softball IQ that you can see every time she is on the field. Her ability to track balls in the outfield is exceptional, and she is a player who consistently makes the right plays. As a lefty hitter, she will add a unique dynamic to our lineup, giving us a different look that will help us be more versatile and effective. We are excited to see what she will bring to the table next season."
 
Amber Estrada
-From Sanger, California
-Senior at Sanger High School
-Pitcher
-In three seasons at Sanger has a record of 21-11 with an ERA of 1.95
-Appeared in 12 games her freshman year, finishing with a 0.94 ERA
  • Recorded one no-hitter and a perfect game
-Has five complete games in her three seasons and four shutouts
-Has 190 strikeouts in three seasons
  • Struck out 117 batter's last season in 94.1 innings pitched
    • Ranked 35th for strikeouts in the Central section
    • Had 10 games with 7+ strikeouts
  • Opponents have batted .216 when facing Estrada

"Amber is a hard-working player from the valley and will bring the pride and desire to help make Bakersfield great. Her smile and poise bring both an exciting yet confident vibe to our program. She is a true leader who knows how to motivate her teammates while taking charge on the mound. We are happy to keep Amber close to home and to have her be a Roadrunner next season!"
