SAN RAMON, Calif. – For the second time this season, a Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunner has earned Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week honors. Redshirt junior Guillermo Escobedo garnered the recognition on Tuesday on the heels of a clutch performance during Cal State Bakersfield's thrilling dual victory over Michigan State.

The `Runners held an 18-14 lead in the match when the 165-pound Escobedo defeated NCAA Qualifier Jay Nivison with a 2-1 victory in extra time. Escobedo’s heroics helped secure the team victory on Alumni Day in front of the CSUB home crowd at the Icardo Center.

This marks the second Pac-12 weekly honor of the season for the Roadrunners, as senior Jake Andrews earned the nod on Nov. 26 after winning the heavyweight title at the Roadrunner Open. 

The `Runners will continue the 2024-25 season at the Norman Duals, Dec. 21, with a quad dual hosted by the University of Oklahoma.
