CSUB Athlete of the Week: Corey Stephenson

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Corey Stephenson scored a game-high 17 points to lead Cal State Bakersfield to a 74-48 victory over Central Valley rival Fresno State on Saturday.

The 6-foot-6 junior was 7 for 13 from the field and added nine rebounds as the Roadrunners won the Rally for the Valley, CSUB's first victory over the Bulldogs since 2016.

Stephenson also scored 18 points in a come-from-behind victory over North Dakota State on Monday, playing a key role in the 'Runners' rally from a 15-point second-half deficit. In two games this week, Stephenson made 16 of 25 shots.
