• CSUB finished 1-1 on the weekend at the Main Soccer Field, even after a tough battle on Sunday evening.
• The Roadrunners will face off against UC Irvine on Thursday, then face off against Long Beach on Sunday.
• They look to continue to keep their unbeaten streak heading into this week of conference play.
•  The CSUB team captains are Solei Moton, Catalina Roggerone, and Hildur Jonasdottir, with newly added captains Megan Ormson and Sara Ybarra.
• Sara Ybarra was named Big West Offensive Player of the week on Monday after a stellar performance last week.

• The Cal State Bakersfield men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will kick off the 2024-25 season with a pair of home meets, Oct. 11-12.
• Bakersfield is coming off a highly-successful 2023-24 season which saw the `Runners win eight conference medals.
• The `Runner rosters feature several experienced veterans who will look to lead the way, including junior Vili Sivec, who is the reigning MPSF Swimmer of the Year.
• CSUB will begin a new era as the `Runners will join The Big West with the first Big West Championships scheduled for Feb. 12-15.

CSUB Sprint Classic & Roadrunner Invite

• Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11-12
• Bakersfield, Calif. / Hillman Aquatic Center
• CSUB will host seven other teams: Denver, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly, UC Davis, Seattle U, Pepperdine, San Jose State.
• Friday’s Sprint Classic will feature fast-paced action, including the fastest race in college swimming, the 50 Freestyle.
• On Saturday, the Roadrunner Invite has a wider range of distances.
• The divers will also compete both days, tackling the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.

• The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners are back in the Icardo Center for an exciting weekend of Big West play, and fans are in for a treat. 
• Coming off a successful 2-0 weekend on the road, the `Runners are filled with energy and enthusiasm as they prepare to face off against two formidable opponents - UC San Diego and Long Beach State.

UC San Diego (7-8, 1-3 Big West) - Friday, October 11th at 6:00 PM

• UC San Diego enters this match after a challenging weekend against Long Beach State and Hawai’i, two of the top teams in the conference. 
• Despite their efforts, the Tritons have managed to secure only one conference win this year, which came in a tightly contested 3-2 match.
• With the Tritons struggling in conference play, Bakersfield sees an opportunity to capitalize on their momentum and secure a victory.
• Last season, the Roadrunners lost both conference matches to UCSD. Historically, the Tritons lead the series 18-15, but the `Runners hope to shift the tide. 
• The last time CSUB triumphed over UCSD was in 2021, when they swept both matchups, and they’ll be looking to replicate that success this time around.

Long Beach State (9-5, 3-1 Big West) - Saturday, October 12th at 4:00 PM

• Saturday's match will feature Pink Night presented by SCOI, with free tickets available for fans who visit GoRunners.com/Pink, courtesy of SCOI. This event aims to raise awareness and support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, making it a special night for the community.
• Long Beach State is currently one of the top teams in the conference, tied for first place alongside CSUB, boasting an impressive overall record of 9-5. They began their conference campaign with three straight wins but recently faced a setback with a loss to Hawai’i.
• Historically, the Roadrunners have struggled against Long Beach State, with only two victories in nine matchups. The last time CSUB defeated the Beach was in 2021, when they showcased their skill by winning both encounters.
•  The Roadrunners will need to bring their best performance to challenge Long Beach’s strong lineup.

• Over the all-time series, UCSB leads CSUB 3-2-1, but the two teams are an even 1-1-1 since CSUB joined The Big West in 2021.
• Last year in Santa Barbara, the `Runners earned a 1-0 victory over the Gauchos.
• CSUB handed the Gauchos just their second loss of the season at home as UCSB was previously 6-1-1 at Harder Stadium on that day in 2023.

CSUB vs. CSUN (2-4-4, 0-1-1 BW)

• A powerhouse during their shared days in NCAA Division I, CSUN leads CSUB 24-2-2 in the all-time series, which dates back to 1979.

• The 2023 edition of the matchup featured Bakersfield earning a 1-0 victory on the road.
• Last year in Northridge, Connor Mautino's 76th-minute victory sealed the win.
