The Cal State Bakersfield Wrestling team is back in action in the Icardo Center for the second week in a row. This weekend the Roadrunners will be hosting the third annual Chippewa Challenge.
- This tournament is put on every year by one of the four teams - Central Michigan, American, Campbell, and CSUB.
- A coach at each school (Jason Borrelli - American; Scotti Sentes - Campbell; and Luke Smith - Cal State Bakersfield) wrestled for Tom Borrelli, the head coach, at Central Michigan, making the tournament a unique meetup of a coaching tree.
- American won the 2023 edition of the Chippewa Challenge, posting a 3-0 record while beating each of its opponents by exactly one point.
- CSUB will also be welcoming new assistant coach Anthony Valencia, a two-time All-American and four-time Pac-12 Champion, for his first official matches as part of the `Runner coaching staff.
