• Long Beach comes to Bakersfield after a 65-53 win over UC Riverside. Marcus Tsohonis (15) and AJ George (14) led the team in points. 
• Tsohonis is averaging 17.5 PPG and 3.6 RPG. He ranks 6th in total points in the Big West. 
•  The Roadrunners come into the matchup with a 3-6 record in conference play. 
  • Bakersfield has seen Kaleb Higgins excel this year offensively. The senior is 8th in the Big West with 16.2 PPG and 9th in assists per game with 3.5. 
  • Modestas Kancleris is 8th in the Big West in rebounding with 6.0 per game.

• Ajay Mitchell leads the Gauchos in scoring, averaging 19.8 PPG.
• CSUB lost to UCSB in a close contest in overtime two weeks ago, 64-66. 
• Corey Stephenson, Marvin McGhee III, Kaleb Higgins, Modestas Kancleris all scored double digits against the Gauchos.

• New Head Coach Katy Barrett Baxter guided the `Runners through a successful Fall season
• Bakersfield posted a 304.8 stroke average through four tournaments, three strokes lower than the 2022-23 team’s overall average.
• Sophomore Sarah Mutai reset Cal State Bakersfield's single-round record with a 3-under-par 69 in the team's season-opening tournament.
• Mutai tied for the team lead in scoring average last year and is pacing the `Runners again so far this season at 73.25.
• Bakersfield native Iris Han continues to be one of the top `Runner contributors while fellow local product Maci Mills recently joined the squad as a mid-season transfer.

• The Cal State Bakersfield women’s basketball team is back on the road for two conference games. To start off, they are going against Long Beach State and closing the weekend out with UC Santa Barbara.

• Thursday, February 01, 7p.m. (PT) at Long Beach, Calif.
• Bakersfield looks for their first win against Long Beach State since being in the Big West.
• The `Runners have a chance to use their two game winning streak momentum to beat Long Beach being 2-9 in conference play.
• Long Beach is coming off a close win against UC Riverside, beating them by just two points.

 CSUB vs. UC Santa Barbara (13-6, 7-2 BW)

• Saturday, Feb. 03, 1 p.m. (PT) at Santa Barbara, Calif.
• Heading off to Santa Barbara, CSUB will face one of their biggest challenges yet. The Gauchos are currently tied for first in the Big West, with a 7-2 conference record.
• Overall, Santa Barbara is currently leading the Roadrunners 11-4 all time, with Santa Barbara holding the upper hand over CSUB winning every game since the ` Runners have been in the Big West.
• Both games will be streamed on ESPN+, with the game against UC Santa Barbara being shown on Spectrum SportsNet.

• CSUB women’s indoor track and field program heads to Flagstaff, Ariz. for the Ronn Mann Classic. 
• Julie Johnson broke another indoor school record at the last meet, this time in the 400m. Johnson's personal best of 57.24 will bring her momentum into the final meet of the indoor season. 
• The NAU hosted meet will be the final meet of the indoor season for the Roadrunners

CSUB at Ronn Mann Classic  - Friday, Feb. 02, All Day

• Jessi Solis has had the highest finish by a CSUB athlete for the third straight meet. Solis is coming off a 12th place finish in the weight throw with her mark of 52'1". 
• Last year, notable schools who attended the NAU meet included  UC Riverside, Fresno Pacific, Southern Utah, Grand Canyon, Utah Tech, and Mesa,
• The Roadrunners have set multiple personal bests throughout the indoor season and seek peak performances for their final tune up before outdoor season starts.

• The Cal State Bakersfield Wrestling team will continue dual season on the road with three weeks to go before postseason competition. CSUB travels north this week for another Pac-12 dual meet. 

CSUB at #17 Stanford - Feb. 4, Stanford, Calif.

• Stanford comes into the week ranked #17 in the nation in multiple major poll. The Cardinal notoriety is based, in part, on an 8-2 record.
• Most recently, Stanford is on a three-match win streak, including a 24-15 victory over #25 Little Rock on Sunday.
• The Cardinal boast seven ranked men, including 157 pounder Daniel Cardenas, who comes in at #11
• The `Runners will be looking for their first dual win over Stanford since the 2018-19 season as the Cardinal have won the last four matchups.
