CSUB 64, CSUN 56 – Thursday, Jan. 25

• Bakersfield won their third straight game in the road matchup with the Matadors
• Fidelis Okereke and Kaleb Higgins led the `Runners with a combined 33 points.
• The `Runners fell behind in the first half, down 9 at the break. CSUB was unable to get anything going down low and struggled to get shots to fall.
• Bakersfield mounted a comeback, thanks in part to Higgins, who scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half.
• CSUB entered the final three minutes tied 54-54 and they were able to pull away in the second half, going on a 10-2 run to close out the game.
• The `Runners achieved their first-three game winning streak since last February when they beat UC Riverside, UC San Diego, and CSUN.
  • UCR and UCSD ended in overtime wins.

CSUB 50, Cal State Fullerton 68 – Saturday, Jan. 27

• Bakersfield’s winning streak was snapped Saturday night versus Cal State Fullerton.
• Fullerton shot 55% from the field in the first half, while the Titans held CSUB to 28% in the first half.
• CSUB came out and defended better in the second half, holding the Titans to 30% (8-26) from the field.
• Despite the good defensive effort, CSUF knocked down 11 of their 14 free throw opportunities in the second half, and went 22-for-32 from the charity stripe on the night.
• Bakersfield also had a great night at the free throw line, shooting 82.4% (14-of-17).
  • This was CSUB’s best night at the line (min. 10 free throws) since Southern Utah where they hit 92.3% (12-13).

• Cal State Bakersfield's women's basketball team went 2-0 for the weekend, beating CSUN and Cal State Fullerton in the Icardo Center.
• Shaunae Brown lead the `Runners in both games, average 22.0 points per game over the pair of games.
• Bakersfield will be on the road this upcoming week for two Big West games, returning toaction against Long Beach State on Thursday night and UC Santa Barbara on Saturday afternoon. 

  CSUB 70, CSUN 54 – Thursday, Jan. 25

• After a slow start in which the Roadrunners scored just eight points in the first quarter, Cal State Bakersfield got hot on the offensive end on their way to a 16-point win over CSUN.
• Shaunae Brown led the `Runners scoring a game-high of 21 points. Brown’s scoring came from a career-high seven three pointers, which ties for third-most in CSUB's Division I history in a single game.
• Senior Grace Hunter posted a season-high of 17 points, shooting 50 percent from the field. Returning from an injury and getting right back into the groove was fellow guard Jordan Olivares, who added 16 points on 50 percent shooting herself. 
• Bakersfield outscored CSUN 20-5 on points from turnovers, with the `Runner defense recording 12 steals and forcing 23 turnovers from the Matadors.
• As a team CSUB hit 43 percent of their shots from three point range on the night.
• The `Runner offense flowed well to the tune of 16 assists, including seven dimes from point guard Nseije Ortiz. 

CSUB 66, Cal State Fullerton 56– Saturday, Jan. 27 

• Coming off the momentum from Thursday night, the `Runners were in high spirits as they faced off against Cal State Fullerton.
• Starting off the first quarter, Bakersfield surged ahead early, taking a 38-32 lead over the Titans into the half.
• Bakersfield polished off the Titans, outscoring their visitors 16-11 in the fourth to seal the 10-point victory.
• Shaunae Brown once again came to show out, dropping five threes to cap off the game. The tedshirt junior shot 63 percent from the three as she continues her lead as number one in the Big West and fourth in the nation for three-pointers made (3.3/game).
• Graduate Student Jordan Olivares continues to make an impact on the court, putting up double digits on the board with 14 points next to her five rebounds and two steals.
• Sophia Tougas had herself a night, recording three blocks to tie her career high, paired with nine points and ten rebounds.

• The Cal State Bakersfield women’s indoor track and field program travelled to Albuquerque, N.M. for the UNM Team Open over the weekend. The two-day track meet was highlighted by Bakersfield native Julie Johnson, who broke a school record for the second-straight meet.

CSUB at UNM Team Open

• Julie Johnson cemented herself at the top of CSUB's 400m list in indoor competition with her time of 57.24. The junior finished 19th overall in a deep event. 
• Jessi Solis has been the highest Roadrunner finisher for three straight meets. Solis placed 12th overall in the weight throw with a mark of 52' 0". 
• On Saturday, Nerissa Thompson ran the 60m in 7.73. It was the second-best time in Thompson’s career. She was the highest finisher for CSUB on the day with her 13th place finish. 
• The `Runners will compete in their final meet of the indoor season at the NAU Ron Mann Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona University on Friday, February 2nd.
