BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Taze Moore, a 2021 graduate from Cal State Bakersfield, made his NBA debut Sunday night for the Portland Trail Blazers versus the Los Angeles Lakers in Los Angeles, California. He is the second Roadrunner to appear in an NBA game, dating back to 1997 when Kebu Stewart joined the league.
Moore was recently signed to a 10-day contract with the Blazers on January 20th. In his first professional season in the G League he averaged 10.9 points and 5.7 rebounds in the 2022-23 season.
This year the Dallas Mavericks signed Moore to an Exhibit 10 deal in the offseason before waiving him and having him rejoin the Texas Legends. He was later traded to the Rip City Remix in exchange for a first and second-round pick in the 2024 G League draft. This season he has averaged 9.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per contest.
Moore checked in during the final minutes of the Trail Blazers’ 134-110 loss; he finished with two points and a steal. The Bakersfield alumnus scored his first NBA bucket on a fastbreak dunk, giving flashbacks to his high-flying days as a `Runner.
