Women's Soccer continues with a pair of road matchups

The Cal State Bakersfield men’s soccer team closed out its exhibition slate with a pair of tight battles against California Baptist and UCLA last week.
On Thursday, Aug. 24, the `Runners will open the 2023 regular season at home against San José State.
Main Soccer Field, kickoff at 7 p.m. (PT)
SJSU is led by former CSUB Head Coach Simon Tobin, who spent 27 years in Bakersfield and amassed over 300 wins with the `Runners.
CSUB and SJSU will be meeting for the 23rd time in the all-time series, which the Spartans lead the `Runners 13-8-1. SJSU has taken the last two meetings with Bakersfield last claiming a win in 2019.
On Monday, Aug. 28, Bakersfield will head south to take on San Diego State.
San Diego, 7 p.m. (PT) kickoff
SDSU enjoys a 7-1 advantage in the all-time series against Cal State Bakersfield. The two teams have only met twice in 2009, splitting the pair of matches since.

vs. Eastern Washington on Friday, Aug. 25, 10 a.m. (PT)
Arguably one of the most lively games of the year, Education Day, kicks off the tournament.
EWU went 11-18 in the previous season before going losing in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament.
vs. Providence on Friday, Aug. 25, 7 p.m. (PT)
Later on the first day, the `Runners continue against Providence College.
The Friars went 4-14 last year and went 4-14 in the Big East
vs. Southern Utah on Saturday, Aug. 26, 4 p.m. (PT)
The final game of the tournament sees CSUB take on Southern Utah and a familiar face.
Hana Makanova, CSUB's third-place blocker in the Division I era, takes on her former program as a grad student for the Thunderbirds.
SU went 7-17 last season, losing the first round of the WAC Tournament.
All CSUB games will be broadcasted on ESPN+

Despite starting the season with a draw before a rivalry loss, CSUB's play on the pitch has looked promising, to say the least.
The Roadrunners came back to draw the season opener against Sacramento State after being down a player for over an hour of play, and they also nearly pulled off a second half comeback tie against Fresno State at home after being down 2-0 at halftime.
CSUB now heads on the road for three straight away games without another home game until September. Northern Arizona is first up on the docket.
Flagstaff, Ariz., 7 p.m. (PT) kickoff
Going 8-6-6 last season, the Lumberjacks won the Big Sky Championship before coming up against and falling to No. 1 seed UCLA in the NCAA Championship.
While the series between CSUB and NAU is tied at two game apiece, the `Runners fended off the Lumberjacks last season in a determined 2-1 win for CSUB at home. Bakersfield will look to repeat the effort in Flagstaff this Friday.
The `Runners keep to the Arizona-area to face a familiar opponent in former WAC rival Grand Canyon.
Phoenix, Ariz., 1 p.m. (PT) kickoff
GCU put together an 11-7-2 season in 2022, falling to No. 1 Utah Valley in the WAC Championship.
CSUB and GCU, all things considered, have played a relatively close all-time series with the Lopes leading with five wins to one loss, five ties included as well.
The two teams last played just before CSUB made the change to the Big West. In 2019, the `Runners got the better of GCU with a 1-0 victory in Arizona.
