Roadrunner Scholar-Athletes Earn 3.05 Spring GPA

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Cal State Bakersfield scholar-athletes posted yet another spectacular spring semester with a 3.05 grade point average during the 2022-23 academic year, while also finishing with a department-wide GPA higher than a 3.00 for the 17th-consecutive term.  Due to their excellent work in the classroom and dedication to their scholarly pursuits, CSUB's scholar-athletes had a 3.20 cumulative GPA for 2022-23.

Led by the stupendous efforts of Women's Golf with a combined term GPA of 3.69, the women's programs achieved a nearly flawless semester with eight of the nine possible teams getting at least a 3.00 GPA. Among the men's programs, the soccer team put in the work and led with a 3.07 term GPA.

"We are very proud of the academic performance of our student-athletes," said CSUB Director of Athletics Kyle Conder. "Achieving a department-wide cumulative GPA above a 3.0 is testament to the diligence of our student-athletes, faculty, and support staff. We are fortunate to have dedicated personnel at the Kegley Center for Student Success who collaborate with our coaches to uphold our pillars of Academic Excellence."

Building on last year's record-breaking academic year in the athletics department, 141 Roadrunners finished with term grade point averages higher than 3.25 and earned Dean's List Honors for the 2023 Spring Semester, while 64-percent of CSUB's scholar athletes boast cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and qualified for the Athletics Director's Honor Roll.
