Miller Gets 100th Hit as Roadrunner; CSUB Drops Season Finale

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Cal State Bakersfield baseball team season finale was a high-scoring affair that had a combined 19 runs in the game. CSUB got on the board first due to an infield single; Bakersfield would tack on four runs in the first two innings. CSUN answered back quickly, but only to cut the Roadrunner lead down to three. Northridge would hold Bakersfield to five runs as they did some damage adding 10 runs from the second to the ninth inning, scoring on timely hits and being aggressive on the basepaths. AJ Miller earned his 100th hit with a three run home run to close out the game.

  • Davonté Butler was rolling through three innings. In the fourth inning of work he was relieved by Ryan Figueroa. 
    • Butler's final line featured two strikeouts, two earned runs on four hits in 4.1 innings pitched.
  • CSUB opened the game with a infield single from Konor Palmeira to put the `Runners in front 1-0.
  • The next inning Nick Salas flexed his muscles sending an RBI triple in the gap to get Bakersfield going. 
  • CSUN answered back in the top of the third, but only one run was able to get in. CSUB led 4-1.
  • Riley Kasper made a nice sliding grab to prevent any Matadors reaching home.
  • Northridge had two big innings in the fifth and ninth to create more work for the Roadrunners, as they scored nine runs in those two innings combined.
  • AJ Miller sent a three-run moonshot for his 100th hit as a Roadrunner down the right field line.
