`Runners Look Ahead to Ohio State

STANFORD, Calif. – The Cal State Bakersfield baseball team was able to take a stand against the Stanford Cardinal. In Game three the Roadrunners were not able to hold their own after Stanford gets off to a hot start. Bakersfield gained some momentum in the third inning but wasn't enough to hold the Cardinal off.

  • After a scoreless first and second, the `Runners are faced with the Cardinal scoring seven runs between the first two innings with the Cardinal. 
  • The `Runners fought hard in the third inning, scoring four runs on five hits. Konnor Palmeria singled through the left field scoring AJ Miller and giving Bakersfield their first runs of the game. Along with Jared Bujanda McConnel doubling to right center, scoring Riley Kasper.
  • Alberto Rios, Stanford catcher, gave Bakersfield a run for their money today hitting two home runs resulting in eleven runs batted in.
  • In the ninth inning, Matthew Kurata singled down the right field line and advanced to second on an error by the Stanford right fielder; which plated Brock Perreira.
