CSUB vs. UC San Diego (4-7) - Thursday, Dec. 28, 7:00 PM

• With the Roadrunners tipping off their fourth Big West conference opener, the UC San Diego Tritons come to the Icardo Center for the first CSUB women’s basketball game since the holiday break.
• The `Runners lead the all-time series 12-8 but were unable to add to the win column last season, dropping both contests to the upstart Tritons 56-42 and 62-50.
• After holding off for a late win against Whittier College before the holiday break, Bakersfield will defend home court for the third straight contest, this time against the 4-7 Tritons.
• The visitors are led by reigning Big West Player of the Week Sumayah Sugapong (15.8 ppg) and two others averaging double-digit points, Pinto and Forsyth.
• Among common opponents, the Tritons struggled to find their footing against Fresno State yet handled Boise State, which was completely opposite to how Bakersfield played both opponents.
• Shaunae Brown looks to drive the `Runners as she has done in weeks previous, currently on a growing 6-game double-digit point streak including a key performance in getting CSUB back to winning against Whittier College.

CSUB at UC Irvine (6-4) - Saturday, Dec. 30, 2:00 PM

• The `Runners finally travel once again, this time against the 6-4 UC Irvine Anteaters in this season’s first rematch of the 2023 Big West Quarterfinals where No. 8 Bakersfield pulled off a historic 2OT upset over a No. 1 UCI squad that received an NIT invitation.
• CSUB also narrowly leads the all-time series against the Anteaters, 13-10. Despite this, Irvine managed to take both regular season games last season, including the title-sealing win and celebration on Bakersfield’s home court.
• Following two straight victories against good mid-major programs, the Anteaters are coming off a narrow, pre-holiday loss to Colorado State. A notoriously hard team to play in-conference, and one of the perennial title contenders, UC Irvine will be tough at home.
• Although more top-heavy with their scoring, the Anteaters have been playing consistent defensive and possession-based basketball with four players averaging about 4 rebounds per game while not allowing a single 70-point game yet this season.
• Big West starlets Nikki Tom and Naveah Parkinson continue to lead this UCI squad and will be the top targets of CSUB’s defense.

• CSUB leads the all-time series with UCSD (6-2).
  • The two teams have split their last four games.
• Bakersfield is coming off a big 96-76 win versus South Dakota.
  • Kaleb Higgins and Modestas Kancleris combined for 45 points.
• The Tritons have shot the most three pointers in the conference up to this point of the season (319).
  • They currently sit fourth in the conference in three-point percentage.
• UC San Diego closed out non-conference play with a four point loss to Cal.
  • The Tritons had a tough stretch of games losing four stretch, including a one point loss to San Diego State.
  • Redshirt Senior, Bryce Pope, leads the Tritons in scoring with 16.9 points per game.

 CSUB vs. UC Irvine (7-5) - Saturday, Dec. 30, 7:00 PM

• Saturday, Dec. 30, 7 p.m. (PT) at Bakersfield, Calif.
• CSUB trails the all-time series with UCI (2-9).
  • Bakersfield is currently on a five game losing streak, the last one coming in Vegas in the second round of the Big West Championship.
• Irvine will open Big West play versus UC Riverside (5-7).
• The Anteaters have two common opponents as the Roadrunners.
  • UCI handed USC their first loss with a 70-60 victory, and hosted South Dakota following the first matchup for the Roadrunners; beating them 121-78.
• Irvine sits fourth in the conference with points scored per game (79.3).
  • They also lead the conference in point margin with 10.9.

CSUB at Cliff Keen Invitational - Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 01-02

• The Cal State Bakersfield wrestling team open up the new year on the road at the Southern Scuffle.
• The Roadrunners have a few weeks of training under their belt as they continue to prep for the upcoming invitational. 
• Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 01-02, Chattanooga, Tenn.  
• Last year, CSUB placed 26th at the Cliff Keen Invitational. 
• Bakersfield will be challenged over the two days as major competition will be on the mat. 
• There are 20 total school's that will be in attendance at the invitational. Notable competitors are Army, Duke, Indiana, Little Rock, Oklahoma, Stanford, and Virginia Tech. 
• On the road tournament's continues the `Runners as they will be at the McKenzie Arena for two full days. 
• The entirety of the tournament will be streamed on FloWrestling. 
• Following this week's trip to the South, CSUB will be at home on Jan. 07 for a PAC-12 dual meet against Arizona State.
