CSUB 96, South Dakota 76 – Tuesday, Dec. 19

• Bakersfield welcomed South Dakota for round two of competition. This time the `Runners had home court advantage as they defeated the Coyotes 96-76. 
• Bakersfield jumped out to a quick lead, starting the game with a 13-5 lead.
• CSUB finished the first half with 50 points
  • The Roadrunners have not scored 50+ points in a half since January 21, 2021 vs. Cal State Fullerton, where they scored 54.
  • As a team the `Runners shot 54.7% from the field and 75% from three-point range, both season bests.
• Kaleb Higgins continues to impress resetting his career high in points, which he had previously done on opening night vs. Southern Utah (27).
  • Higgins finished with 28 points, four rebounds, five assists, and one steal.
• Modestas Kancleris also had his best game of the year, scoring 17 while shooting 2/2 from three-point range, and pulling down seven rebounds, and dishing out two assists.
• Bakersfield avenged their 78-73 loss earlier this month to the Coyotes in South Dakota with a dominant win in the Icardo Center
  • CSUB remains undefeated at home as they head into conference play.

CSUB 60, Whittier College 52 – Thursday, Dec. 21

• Cal State Bakersfield's women's basketball team ends non conference play with a victory over Whittier College. As the holiday break is upon us, the Roadrunners took care of business heading into conference play next week. 
• CSUB defended home court with a 60-52 win over the Poets. 
• The best quarter of the season appeared in the first one with 55.6% from the field and beyond the arc.
• Whittier College's Rhe Nae Leach put up a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. 
• Freshman, Amourie Porter put up 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals to end the night. 
• Next up for the Roadrunners is the Big West home opener against the UC San Diego Tritons on Dec. 28th. 

CSUB at UC Santa Barbara – Tuesday, Dec. 19 122-254

• Due to unforeseen circumstances, Santa Barbara and Goleta experienced mass power outages on Tuesday. Timing equipment was unavailable for the meet and as a result there are no times available for this meet. 
• Only 10 events occurred during the afternoon. 
• According to Swim and Dive Director Chris Hansen, Vili Sivec and Kylie Ney followed up their tournament performances with great events against UC Santa Barbara despite dropping the dual-meet to the Gauchos.
• The women dropped the meet with a score of 70-118, while the men fell with a score of 52-136. The combined total to end the score was 122-254. 
• Looking ahead, the Bakersfield swim teams will be back in action at home on Jan. 06 as they welcome the Cal Poly Mustangs.
