CSUB 58, Fresno State 61 – Saturday, Dec. 15

• Both teams had a slight sluggish first half ending with a score of 24-17.
  • Bakersfield shot 5-26 from the field and Fresno shot 9-26.
• Coming out of the second half CSUB immediately started attacking down low and cutting into the Bulldog lead.
• Fresno State knocked down one of two free throws missing the opportunity to cushion their lead going up four.
• Kaleb Higgins had the opportunity to send the game into overtime missing the final shot to seal Fresno State’s close win.
• Bakersfield finished the second half shooting 60% from the field and outscoring Fresno State 41-37.
• Higgins finished the game with 17 points, a career high 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

CSUB 60, Pepperdine 80 – Saturday, Dec. 16

• In a weekend matinee against the Pepperdine Waves, Cal State Bakersfield women’s basketball fell at home despite a valiant comeback attempt by the Roadrunners. CSUB was down 40-18 but brought the deficit back to single digits before Pepperdine broke away in the 4th quarter to win.
• Despite yet another game of typical standout performances from the trio of Shaunae Brown (9-21 FG, 21 PTS, 2 STL), Jordan Olivares (15 PTS), and Sophia Tougas (8 PTS, 13 REB), Pepperdine shot at a stellar 55% from the field while also taking control of the boards with 47 rebounds to CSUB’s 28.
• Tougas blitzed her previous single-game rebounds mark, setting a new career-high with 13 grabs off the boards.
• Generally known for having capable depth throughout the lineup, Bakersfield was unable to get much offensively from its bench. The Waves also led in that department, pulling in 40 points from their bench.
• The `Runners had their best stretch of play with a humongous 19-5 point run coming out of halftime to level the playing field and erase a double-digit hole. However, Pepperdine returned to the driver’s seat in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
• With the fourth straight game of 60+ points allowed, Bakersfield will look for a return to its typically staunch defense in order to get back in the win column again, as the `Runners now sit on a four-game losing streak.
• Next up will be an NAIA opponent at home with Whittier College visiting Dec. 21 for the final game before a brief holiday break.

• Cal State Bakersfield's wrestling team kicked off their conference schedule last Friday in a dual meet against Oregon state in the Icardo Center. 
• Following this dual, the Bakersfield roadrunners traveled to Reno, Nevada for an all-day tournament against teams from all over the country. 

  CSUB 0, Oregon State 48 – Friday, Dec. 15

• Bakersfield starting ten had a hard time going up against the Oregon State Beavers losing 0-48 as team. 

CSUB at Reno Tournament of Champions – Sunday, Dec. 17

• Traveling back to Nevada for the second time this season, Bakersfield put forth their best wrestlers, only to get shut out. Bakersfield as a team scored 10.5 points.
