CSUB at Fresno State (5-4) - Friday, Dec. 15, 7:00 PM

• The Cal State Bakersfield men's basketball team attempts to Sweep the Valley this Friday as they travel up north to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs. The women's team took care of business last month when they defeated Fresno at home, 65-63. 
• CSUB and Fresno State will meet for the 11th time in program history. 
• The last meeting was held in the Icardo Center last December where Fresno State edged out CSUB 56-48.
• Fresno State will enter Friday night with a 5-4 record after playing #22 James Madi- son, fellow Big West foe UC Santa Barbara, and #19 BYU.
• Bakersfield native, Isaiah Hill, leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 14.4 PPG.
• Bakersfield returns back to California following a 78-73 loss in South Dakota.
• Fidelis Okereke looks more comfortable in the Rod Barnes led offense after recording a career high 16 points, and season highs with 7 rebounds, and 2 steals versus South Dakota.

CSUB vs. Pepperdine (6-2) - Saturday, Dec. 16, 1:00 PM

• The Cal State Bakersfield women’s basketball squad is finally back at home after spending nearly the last month on the road including a three-game, four-day trip that spanned from New York to Idaho.
• Including this match against the Waves, Bakersfield has three straight home games which also includes the 2024 conference-opening contest against UC San Diego on Dec. 28.
• The fourth straight year that the `Runners and Waves have faced off, Bakersfield has come close to beating Pepperdine a number of times but is yet to take a game.
• Last season, CSUB traveled to Malibu and was unable to settle its defense despite 12 points from Sophia Tougas and the team holding its own in the paint, losing 80-53.
• Pepperdine (2-8) is currently on a seven-game losing streak with the most offensive production put up in any of those games being 57 points. 
• While the Waves will certainly be looking to break out from the slump, Bakersfield will also be searching for its first victory since Nov. 24 and will fight hard to get back on a good track before the start of Big West play.
• Despite struggles as a team, Shaunae Brown (15.4 pts/g, .427 fg%) and Jordan Olivares (12.3 pts/g, 6.6 reb/g) continue to dominate at each end of the court for the `Runners and pose the biggest threat to a Pepperdine squad hungry for a victory.

CSUB vs Oregon State - Friday, Dec. 15, 7:00 PM

• The Cal State Bakersfield Wrestling team kicks off the Pac-12 conference with their home opener against the Oregon State Beavers this Friday.
• The Beavers are coming off a fifth place team finish at Cliff Keen two weeks ago, with Travis Wittlake leading the team placing 12th overall at 174lbs.
• Overall, the team collected a total of 98.5 points. Wittlake will be back against Bakersfield as a probable starter.
• Richie Sandoval was the Roadrunners star during Cliff Keen, he beat out #11 ranked from Iowa state. He will also be a probable starter for CSUB lineup.

CSUB at Reno Tournament of Champions - Sunday, Dec. 17, 9:00 AM

• The `Runners will be at the Reno Events Center all day for the Reno Tournament of Champions. 
• CSUB finished the tournament 12th out of 42 last year and finished as a group 7th overall the year before. 
• Bakersfield has been attending the Reno Tournament for well over a decade as they look to end the 2023 slate of competition on a good note. 
• Some notable teams who will be competing include, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, and Wyoming. Bakersfield will get the chance to see some Pac-12 completion throughout the day.

CSUB at UC Santa Barbara - Tuesday, Dec. 19, 1:00 PM

• Coming off one of the most successful tournaments in program history, Cal State Bakersfield’s swim and dive teams are ready for a conference dual-meet against arguably one of their toughest MPSF opponents, UC Santa Barbara.
• Vili Sivec and Kylie Ney look to lead the way yet again for the Roadrunners, as their nearly flawless seasons continue to pave a path towards team success in 2023-24.
• Before the second straight year of facing each other, this time in UCSB’s home pools, Bakersfield swam and dove to its closest deficit against the Gauchos in 2022-23, falling by score of just 175-101 for the women and 169-116 on the men’s side.
• Every meet matters even more every week as teams approach the conference championships but even more importantly as individual swimmers look towards the Doha World Championships as well as the Olympic Trials.
• With so many swimmers on the Cal State Bakersfield squads currently in the best form of their young careers, the `Runners have been regularly trading MPSF Athlete of the Week honors with UCSB swimmers, and this close meet should be no different in competition.
