Introducing CSUB Softball 2023: Infielders

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The start of the 2023 Cal State Bakersfield softball season is just two weeks away as first-year Head Coach Daniel Sperl and the Roadrunners continue to prepare for the new era of CSUB Softball. Ahead of the beginning of the new season, we want to introduce the 2023 edition of the `Runners.

Today marks the first of a four-part series breaking down Sperl's squad, position by position. First up, the CSUB Softball infielders.

Quotes
  • Sperl on the group: " We have a lot of options in the infield this season, and we should be able to mix and match as needed for different game plans or opponents. Shay and Sam should play key roles and anchor the unit, while hitting in important spots in the lineup. Several other players could easily emerge as key contributors, with the tools to both shore up our defense and add to our lineup depth."
