Jarusevicius Ready to Help Lithuania at U20 Euros

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Ugnius Jarusevicius, a recent signee with the California State University, Bakersfield men's basketball team, has travelled to Podgorica, Montenegro for the 2022 FIBA U20 European Championship. The incoming Roadrunner will compete for the Lithuanian National Team, July 16-24, in a quest to establish his country's youth squad as the best in Europe.

The 2022 edition of the European Championship will add another notch on Jarusevicius' international resume as he was also a member of Lithuania's team at the 2021 U18 Championship as well as the 2019 U16 Euros.

Last year, Lithuania posted a second-place finish in group play despite playing among three of the Top 10 international basketball systems in the world. Throughout that tournament, Jarusevicius averaged nine points and six rebounds a contest including an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double during the team's 16-point victory over Greece.

Jarusevicius, a 6-foot-10 forward and incoming freshman, will kick off the U20 Euros on Saturday against Spain. Lithuania will also take on Ukraine and Czech Republic in Group C action. After contesting three games over three days, performance during group play will determine seeding for the Round of 16 elimination games.

Fans interested in following Jarusevicius, Lithuania, and/or the U20 European Championships can visit FIBA's tournament website for the most up-to-date information.
