CSUB Earns Single-Season Record 10th Victory in Split

TUCSON, Ariz. – Continuing solid play from Friday at the Arizona Invitational, the CSU Bakersfield beach volleyball team closed out the road trip to Tucson with a split on Saturday. The Roadrunners bested Stephen F. Austin, 4-1, before dropping a tight, 3-2 decision against Southern Miss.

"Today we had a really good first match and executed the little things that we talked about yesterday," said Cesar Benatti, Bakersfield's Head Coach. "However, we fell short in the second game exactly because we didn't have the same mindset. Lots of lessons to learn this weekend to be able to grow and get to the last two weeks in a good way."
 
In the win against SFA, Bakersfield picked up its 10th victory of the season, resetting the program's single-season record. CSUB's No. 1 pairing of Milica Vukobrat and Cameron Solberg also picked up two more wins this weekend. The senior duo, which have paired exclusively all four years, are now 13-9 on the year and they need just one more win to be Bakersfield's single-season leaders.

The `Runners (10-14) will return to Bakersfield with a few days to practice before heading back out on the road. CSUB will travel to Long Beach, Calif. on Saturday, Apr. 23, to take on Long Beach State and Cal State LA in Bakersfield's regular-season finale.
